Neue Kategorien bitte sachgemäß eintragen
[edit]Hallo liebe Freunde!
Bitte mindestens ZWEI Kategorien eintragen:
- a) WTS-Kategorie nach Sachbezug

- Dear Belbury,
- Sorry for that inconvenience and miscalculation. The rules are the rules. Otherwise the handling of copyrights concerning to Ernest Brooks is not simple:
- The copy of this picture, original in Imperial war Museum, is free under non-commercial use:[3]-> Copyright-Rules of IWM. Ok, non commercial doesn´t go with Wiki
- Otherwise Ernest Brooks worked as an press-officer for the UK-Forces in WWI and his works hade been published by the former UK-MoD.
- The photo on the IWM website is described as:
- Part of MINISTRY OF INFORMATION FIRST WORLD WAR OFFICIAL COLLECTION
- Source:[4]https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205072579
- Will mean, that this license could be adapted: -> PD-UKGov
- Also concerning Ernest Brooks in wikipedia.en other regulations are in use: Category:Ernest_Brooks. In conclusion the use in wikipedia.en is possible. Under this rule more than 1.200 pics of Brooks had been published.-> PD-US-expired-abroad
- But the rules are the rules.
- When I am 73 I´ll upload the picture again. :-)
- Best regards
- Felix

- This is NOT correct! The photo was taken in the Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung in Koblenz in the date published! Sandbaer (talk) 09:17, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- @ZLEA pls. revert your decision.
- Did you note the comment "Archive photo credit: WTS" in the source you mentioned above ???
- Please note for now and future cases:
- The upload here is now the original from the officially ORTS registered WTS-Account. Regards --Tom (talk) 11:59, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you Tom!ZLEA Had Not recognized, that the photo was taken in a Museum! Correct: It was taken 30 years after end of program. Regards Felix Sandbaer (talk) 13:14, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you Tom! Everything is OK. We as Assosciation of Friends and Supporters of the Military Technology Collection has all rights of publication of pictures of our assets and own documentation. All pictures are OK and upload agreed! Best regards Felix Verein der Freunde und Förderer der Wehrtechnischen Studiensammlung Koblenz e. V. (talk) 15:13, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- The photo was used in an article published a year before it was allegedly taken. I find it extremely hard to believe that DAR was still being launched as late as 2024, and have found no evidence of such. That said, I'm going to assume that the photo was taken in the 1980s, and the 2024 date was when it was scanned. In the US, scanning a photo does not mean you own the copyright of the copy, and I assume this is the same for Germany. If you want to upload the photo, you need to ensure that the original photo is free to use and upload it with the original copyright information. If the photo was taken by the German government, then it is free to use and should be uploaded with this tag. - ZLEA T\C 17:48, 26 January 2025 (UTC)

- Dear User:ZLEA, since you apparently did not understand the context, it seems to me that it is time to clarify this again.
- WTS is a government organization, pls. read the article de:Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung Koblenz.
- The image was uploaded by the official service-account of this organization.
- In de:WP we support WTS and this account on many occasions, thus including in GLAM projects and at Wikipedia:QRpedia.
- Now would you please be so kind and restore the image? If you have any further questions about the project, you can contact user:Sanandros here on commons or my disk in de:WP.
- Thank you so much for the very pleasant cooperation. Greetings --Tom (talk) 20:51, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- I understand that part. My point is that the image was improperly tagged and had an obviously incorrect date. If you want it restored, you will need to contact the admin who deleted it, in this case Yann. After it is restored, it will need to be properly tagged and dated to avoid further confusion. - ZLEA T\C 22:46, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks! Verein der Freunde und Förderer der Wehrtechnischen Studiensammlung Koblenz e. V. (talk) 23:19, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- A German picture from the 1980s is not in the public domain, even if taken by an employee of the government. We need a formal written permission from the copyright holder via COM:VRT, who is usually the photographer, unless there was a written contract saying otherwise. Thanks, Yann (talk) 09:32, 27 January 2025 (UTC)

- Hello! Don´t understand the concerns! The category is named: „SEM 35 (Military Radio)“ Best regards Felix Verein der Freunde und Förderer der Wehrtechnischen Studiensammlung Koblenz e. V. (talk) 10:47, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, the reason is that the category had an ambigious name that didn't clarify what it was meant to hold. I had no way of knowing that "SEM 35" was a military radio, nor that it was the same as "SEM 35 (Military Radio)". I have now corrected it though, so that "SEM 35" points to "SEM 35 (Military Radio)". Rose Abrams (talk) 11:12, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
